Blooming Beauty: Embrace Tulip Season

Step into the enchanting world of tulips as we welcome the start of the cut tulip season on the third Saturday of January – celebrated as National Tulip Day! At our flower shop here in Jersey, we're thrilled to share the beauty and significance of tulips, making them more accessible and affordable for all flower enthusiasts.

Pink Parrot Tulips

The Historical Elegance of Tulips: Tulips trace back to the 16th century when these exquisite flowers were introduced to Holland from present-day Turkey. At one time tulips were one of the most sought-after commodities in the Netherlands, a journey catalyzed by Carolus Clusius's groundbreaking book that elevated tulips to a status surpassing even that of gold.

Tulip Mania in English Gardens: The experience of "Tulip Mania" swept through English gardens when tulips were first introduced by Europeans. These florals captivate the spiritual symbolism of tulips, representing rebirth and fresh beginnings as they emerge among the first blooms of Spring.

Symbolism of Colors: Tulips come in a wide array of colors, each carrying its own symbolic meaning. Red tulips traditionally represent deep love and passion, while yellow tulips symbolize cheerful thoughts and sunshine. White tulips are associated with purity and forgiveness, while purple tulips convey royalty and elegance. The diverse symbolism attached to tulip colors adds a layer of depth and emotion to the language of flowers.
